Safeguarding Children Training 

​Safeguarding children is essential to protecting young people from abuse, neglect and exploitation, and ensuring they grow up in safe, supportive environments. Under Working Together to Safeguard Children and Keeping Children Safe in Education, every organisation has a duty to recognise concerns early, respond appropriately and promote a culture where children feel heard, valued and protected. Our specialist training gives your team the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to meet these responsibilities and strengthen safeguarding practice across your setting.

Level 1 – Safeguarding Children Awareness

Duration: Half day

Delivery: Online or in‑house.

Suitable for: All staff working with or around children

​

Overview: This essential course introduces the core principles of child safeguarding, aligned with Working Together to Safeguard Children and KCSIE. Staff learn how to recognise abuse, respond appropriately, and follow internal reporting procedures.

 

Key Learning:

• Types and indicators of abuse

• Responding to disclosures

• Reporting and recording concerns

• Professional boundaries

 

Level 2 – Safeguarding Children Practitioner

 

Duration: Half day

Delivery: Online or in‑house.

Suitable for: Staff with regular safeguarding responsibilities

 

Overview: A deeper, practice‑focused course covering thresholds, early help, multi‑agency working, and contextual safeguarding. Fully aligned with Ofsted expectations.

 

Key Learning:

• Thresholds of need

• Early Help processes

• Multi‑agency working

• Escalation procedures

• Evidential recording

 

Level 3 – Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

 

Duration: Full day

Delivery: Online or in‑house.

Suitable for: DSLs, deputies, managers, senior leaders

 

Overview: Advanced training for those leading safeguarding within their organisation. Covers complex case management, referrals, allegations, and preparing for Ofsted scrutiny.

• Managing referrals & liaising with MASH

• Strategy meetings & conferences

• Internal investigations

• Safer recruitment oversight

• Safeguarding audits & compliance
